About the Scheme
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana on February 13, 2024, with a total outlay of ₹75,021 crore. This revolutionary scheme aims to light up 1 crore households by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month.
The scheme provides Central Financial Assistance (CFA) for installing rooftop solar systems, with the subsidy amount varying based on the system capacity. For systems up to 2 kW, the subsidy is ₹30,000 per kW; for systems between 2-3 kW, it's ₹18,000 per kW.
URJA Uttar Pradesh serves as the official implementing agency for this scheme across the state, working closely with DISCOMs, vendors, and beneficiaries to ensure smooth implementation and maximum outreach.
